State of the Survey Environment

• The most recent dataset includes surveys completed through March 2024 and one survey completed at the beginning of April 2024.
• It is unclear how many and which facilities have been surveyed from 4/2/2024 to the present.
• OHCQ continues to complete about four annual surveys every 30 days.
• There are around 80 out of 222 SNFs in Maryland that haven’t had their recertification survey since 2019.
  
  

The spreadsheet below shows the projected queue for annual surveys that we developed last month. The facilities highlighted in green are the newest surveys reported in the most recent CMS dataset released in July.

Our methodology for predicting the survey order seems accurate with the exception of Transitional Care at Mercy Medical Center. It is unclear why OHCQ would have surveyed them prior to other facilities higher up on the list.

Even though the data has not yet been published, I am aware that both Holly Hill and Fayette Health have been through annual surveys in recent months. I suspect their outcomes will be published in the August dataset.
